Introducing an innovative and exciting new magazine! Ink & Hip Hop Magazine will be making its debut soon and is set to take the editorial scene by storm. The founders of this magazine strive to present a new and fresh way of exposing two very popular cultures. This magazine will give equal exposure to two major taboos of our society.
The magazine was founded in July 2010. It went from an idea to a manifestation within a year’s time! This is primarily due to the over whelming response of today’s pop culture. The main focus of the magazine is to fuse both cultures together, that practically feed off of each other already. By putting emphasis on write-ups, Ink& Hip Hop Magazine hopes to provide revelation to the ever evolving state of ART.
The magazine will include but is not limited to write-ups concerning individual tattoo artist, tattoo shops, graffiti artist, graphic design, sketch artist, poets, hip hop artist and anything that revolves around the world of Ink & Hip Hop. The objective is to push the artist and not the product. This is what sets Ink and Hip Hop Magazine apart from magazines of its kind.
All write-ups will be about the talented individuals of each respective industry and not necessarily on popularity. Majority of the space used in this magazine will be to inform, educate and enlighten. It will be filled with stories of value, raw and uncut information that consumers can appreciate and love.
In addition to its meaningful content the magazine will be an all around work of art with in it’s self. High resolution pictures will be rendered on high quality paper and print. All pictures will be taken by the magazines in house photographer giving the reader a sense of consistency. Articles will be written by professional writers. The reader will be presented with a brand that they will come to recognize no matter where it’s placed, be it a magazine rack or a coffee table. The goal of the magazine is to give a feeling of familiarity. This will be done with the overall appearance of the magazine as well as with the content.
Reoccurring article sections include: “The Tale of the Tat”.This is an interaction with the magazine and its readers. Not only does the reader get to summit their tat stories for a chance to be in this featured section, but they also get the chance to turn their horror into a happily ever after. The tattoo that they describe in their story will be cover-up at the expense of the magazine and it will become apart of the over all story. Before and after pictures will be taken and included as well. The “Who Got Next” section is for the Hip Hop Heads. This section highlights independent hip hop artist. It not only gives these individuals a chance to be seen by their peers but it also allows for them to be exposed in a whole different genre of pop culture. The focus is on under the radar artist and their “rap sheet”. Just enough information will be provided to the reader so that they can research and follow these artists.
Obviously, Ink & Hip Hop is striving to be different and taking a leap of faith with its unique expression by offering what rarely gets recognition to the world. Truth be told both Ink & Hip Hop artist use similar tools to get their message across. Ink & Hip Hop Magazine would like to contribute to that message and broaden its delivery!
